EXP: Questions of Perception in Art and Science

EXP is designed for undergraduate and graduate students of different disciplines who wish to gain knowledge on the human perceptual system through experiments on perception and demonstrations of different perceptual phenomena for art practice.

A number of historical and recent experiments on perception will be performed and discussed in relation to developments in contemporary art, and the intertwined history of art, technology and psychology. The course will profit from the students’ different academic backgrounds and help expanding their respective practices, knowledge and experience through experimentation, discourse across disciplines, and the discussion of their individual perceptual differences.
